A truck fire closed the eastbound Pennsylvania Turnpike near Bensalem on Saturday morning. Around 7 a.m., a truck carrying 2,700 gallons of heating oil caught fire. About an hour later, the fire had been put out, but police are still investigating the cause of the fire. No injuries have been reported. State police say that repairs to the roadway will take eight to 12 hours, during which the eastbound lanes between Bensalem and Willow Grove will remain closed. Drivers had to get off the turnpike at Bensalem, also closed because of an earlier tractor-trailer accident. Only the left lane was in use as workers cleaned up the right lane.
